"Tell me how you would know if there was a problem with your anti lock braking system."

ABS (anti lock brakes) stop the cars wheels from locking up when braking. If there is a fault with the system, the warning light will come on:

  • When the ignition is switched on, the ABS light illuminates briefly to confirm that the system is operational. If it illuminates when driving, it indicates a malfunction. Have this checked as soon as possible. Normal braking (without ABS) will be maintained. The vehicle might be still safe to drive, but you should have the vehicle checked by a dealer or garage as soon as possible.
